Setup guide

Get set up in a few simple steps.

Pick your device below and follow the instructions written for it. Most people are watching within about ten minutes — and if you are not, support will finish the job for you at no cost.

Before you start

The three things every setup needs

Your activation email

It contains your login details and names the player to install. If you cannot find it, check spam, then ask support to resend it.

A steady connection

Around 15 Mbps is comfortable for HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. Wired or 5GHz Wi-Fi beats 2.4GHz every time.

About ten minutes

Installing the app takes two minutes. The first channel-list download takes most of the rest — it only happens once.

Instructions

Choose your device

Open the one that matches what you are setting up. Each guide covers installation, sign-in and the problems that come up most often.

Smart TV (Samsung & LG)

What you need

  • Your TV connected to the internet
  • The activation email we sent you
  • Your TV remote

Installation

  1. On the TV, open the built-in app store (Samsung Apps on Tizen, the LG Content Store on webOS).
  2. Search for the player named in your activation email and install it.
  3. Open the app. It will show a device ID or MAC address on screen.
  4. If your email asked for that ID, send it to support — some players are registered from our side before they will load.

Activation & sign in

  1. Open the player and choose the option to add a new playlist or profile.
  2. Enter the details from your activation email exactly as they appear — they are case sensitive, and a trailing space will stop it working.
  3. Give the profile any name you like, then save. The channel list downloads on first run and can take a minute.

Start watching

Press Home, open the player, and pick a category. Live TV, films and series each have their own section.

Setting up on a Samsung or LG Smart TV

Common problems

  • App not in the store. Older sets sometimes drop apps. Contact support and we will suggest an alternative player, or a Fire Stick as a cheap fallback.
  • Blank screen after sign in. Almost always a typo in the login details. Re-enter them slowly.
  • Slow channel list. The first load is the biggest. Give it a full minute before restarting.

Installation

  1. Open the Google Play Store on the TV.
  2. Search for the player named in your activation email and install it.
  3. Open it once so it finishes setting itself up.

Setting up on Android TV or Google TV

Common problems

  • Play Store search finds nothing. Search on your phone’s Play Store and use the “install to device” option instead.
  • Remote is fiddly for typing. Install the Android TV remote app on your phone and type from there.
  • App keeps closing. Clear its cache in Settings › Apps, then reopen.

Start watching

Hold the Home button and add the player to your favourites so it sits at the front of the row.

Setting up on Amazon Fire TV

Common problems

  • Stick runs hot or stutters. Older Sticks struggle with 4K streams — drop the quality setting inside the player.
  • Not enough storage. Uninstall apps you do not use; Fire Sticks ship with very little space.
  • Buffering on Wi-Fi. Move the Stick onto the 5GHz band, or use an ethernet adapter.

Start watching

Tap a category to browse. To watch on a television, use AirPlay from the player’s playback controls.

Setting up on iPhone or iPad

Common problems

  • AirPlay will not connect. Both devices must be on the same network — check you are not on a guest Wi-Fi.
  • Heavy mobile data use. Lower the streaming quality in the player’s settings before watching away from Wi-Fi.
  • Nothing loads on mobile data. Some carriers block certain traffic. Try again on Wi-Fi and tell support what happened.

Setting up on Windows

Common problems

  • Windows SmartScreen warning. Only continue if the download came from the link in your activation email. If in doubt, ask support first.
  • Green or black video. Turn off hardware acceleration in the player or browser settings.

Common problems

What you need

  • Your box, connected to the TV and the internet

  3. The channel list downloads on first run — give it a minute.

Start watching

The box boots straight into the service, so the TV remote is all anyone in the house needs.

Setting up on a MAG or Android box

Common problems

  • Portal not found. One wrong character in the URL will do this. Copy and paste it if your box allows.
  • Box not registered. Nothing will load until the MAC address is added at our end — check you sent the right one.
  • Old firmware. Update the box first; several models will not connect on out-of-date firmware.

Other devices

What you need

  • The make and model of your device
  • The activation email
  • A message to support

Installation

  1. Send support the exact make, model and operating system version.
  2. We will tell you honestly whether it is supported, and which player to install.
  3. Follow the instructions we send back — they are written for your specific device.

Once the player is installed and signed in, everything works the same way it does everywhere else.

Finding your device make, model and OS version

Common problems

  • Very old hardware. Devices more than five or six years old often cannot run current players. A Fire Stick is usually the cheapest fix.
  • Locked-down devices. Some carrier or hotel devices block app installs entirely.
  • Not sure what you have. Send a photo of the label on the back — that is usually enough for us to identify it.
